Domini Canes

The Lords Dogs

The Torch Bearer’s of Truth

This podcast and blog, Dominis Canis (The Lord’s Dogs), are rooted in the Thomist philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas. The torch-bearing dog symbolizes Dominican preachers, from Dominicanus, which sounds like Domini canis—“dog of the Lord.” Inspired by St. Dominic’s mother’s dream of a dog spreading Gospel light, we say: We are in a Sumus in bello spirituale. (Spiritual War for Truth)

We embraces this legacy, exploring philosophy and theological truths to ignite minds and illuminate faith, guided by the wisdom of the Dominicanus Dominis Canas, “Lord's Dogs,”

Thomist Philosophy with our Dr. Wagner

Thomas Aquinas concept of the “self” was that we don't encounter ourselves as isolated minds or selves but rather always as agents interacting with our environment. And that our self-knowledge is dependent on our experience of the world around us. We get to explore these and other philosophical questions or conundrums, that engages our shows esse towards it telos. You Never know where he will it will take us.
